Everyone Benefits From a Plan

Should you use a plan?

Yes, most of the time it all needs to start with a plan.

You can do it without a written one but the more complex a job becomes the more it’s in your benefit to go through this process as it will save time, $$ and usually result in a better final look.

And in many cases they are required.

So whether this is an early discussion between spouses to reach common ground, a simple drawing that identifies the rough placement of items or complete, multi page drawings done to scale for HOA and other formal submittals required to be done by a landscape architect…

In general, the detail of plan should correspond to the level of complexity of the job.

If you simply are looking to remove your turf and replace with stone and a few random succulents then you probably can do ok without a plan.

But even then a plan will end up saving you a trip or two or more to the store by identifying what you need to do.
